A Joy-Full Update

The new year has already brought a slew of life-changing events. Some of them large and some of them small; none more significant than the availability of Joy for adoption.

When I met Joy over a year ago I knew that she was something special. There were things that were transitioning in my life that the significance of her entering it was nothing less than perfect timing.

I was growing, I was grieving, I was moving forward.

It's occurred to me that the significance of her potentially leaving is also perfect timing.
The universe always seems to make things happen when they are supposed to.

As much as I may be unsure and as much as I've grown to love her...She's ready, she's ready as she'll ever be.

Her skin is healed, her fur has grown, her confidence is better...it's not great but it's better. She's no longer the scared dog that wouldn't leave her crate. Although she still needs guidance and there is always room for more growth, there is no reason not to share her with the world. I've done all that I can do for her and so our journey must make another transition.

I've learned so much from this sweet girl that we named Joy. And I just know that someone out there is willing and waiting to give her the type of home that she needs.

I am not going to lead you to believe that adopting Joy will be easy, because it probably won't be. She gets scared sometimes, she gets anxious in new places, she's unsure of certain situations...

What I CAN tell you is that bringing Joy home will be the most rewarding thing you've ever done. Why? Because what Joy gives you back in exchange for helping her through those scary situations is tenfold.

She's loving. She's obedient. She's thankful. She's affectionate. She's smart. She's gentle. She's beautiful.

She will make you smile every single day.

So this is me, putting it out into the universe, to find Joy's forever person. Not just any person but a person who is kind, a person who is understanding, a person who is patient, a person who is accepting, a special person who can truly help heal a special dog like Joy.
