How terrible to love what can parish.
"Of all the 6 billion people in the world, what are the odds that any two people are a real match?"
This is the question that NPR reporter David Kestenbaum asks.
Recently I've been completely obsessed with "This American Life." The podcasts can be listened to for free and most of them are wonderful. Today I found this one. And I just really enjoyed it. It was posted right before Valentine's Day so naturally its those loves stories that could probably be made into a movie.
The first story is about an exchange student in China who falls in love with a musician at the opera. He loses his love and all he has is her name and her picture... and he can barely speak any Chinese. The young man hits the streets of Beijing to find her.
I'm listening to it right now. So I'm not sure if he finds her yet. But I'm guessing if he's getting his story told it's going to be a happy ending. All of these stories just sort of got me thinking that if there is really ONE person out there where are we supposed to start looking? This guy had to go to China.
Where are we supposed to start?
oh geez. I'm still listening to this story. He finds her AND they go out AND its her first kiss. It's so romantic its disgusting.
Anyway, you should listen to it. Act II, or the second story, is about a little transgendered girl and her family's struggle. It made me cry.
