My Dell Inspiron

I have a Dell Inspiron 1420 with Vista. As far as Vista goes its been fine. I really like the way it is visually and since I got it pretty soon after the release I was expecting the glitches and bugs. They really aren't that bad I'm not particularly picky with the way my system runs as long as I can browse the internet, edit my photos, and listen to my music I'm very happy.

However, the hardware is another story. My laptop has been rebuilt from the bottom to the top.. twice. For various complications that shouldn't happen. For some reason I have the worst of luck with technological devices. I don't do anything extraordinary with my computer they just give me problems.

Motherboard replaced: twice. Monitor replaced: twice. Wires connecting monitor replaced.

It's really stupid and I'm a little tired of being on hold with the support team in India for 3 hours. The last time I received my new mother board the technician forgot to set up the webcam, not to mention they gave me a broken refurbished motherboard to replace my existing broken motherboard.

Needless to say I've given up because the new broken one still works and the external switch for the wireless is simply broken so I just have to turn off my wireless manually which is fine I can deal with that.

It is just really stupid that I pay so much money to have a product that is anything less than what was promised. So being fed up with Dell costumer support I've decided to take things into my own hands and I cracked this sucker open with my own screwdriver.

and TAH DAH! magic. I fixed my own damn webcam and rigged my wireless switch with a toothpick! so here's to not dealing with customer support. Everything is working now!

Screw Dell! I'm better :]
