Where's my snow day?

Coming from Southern California I have had few experiences with snow... or any weather below 60 degrees. I don't think you can imagine my excitement when I found out what a "snow day" was. An entire day off of school to play in the snow?! This may seem very naive, but I really never even thought of what people do when there is too much snow.

Last year was the first time I experienced snow fall from the sky. I mean I've SEEN snow. But I've always had to drive to the mountains after the fact. Anyway it was amazing and wonderful and full of snow angels with happy warm fuzzy feelings of joy inside... but it was a Saturday.

Today it snowed... and I'm at work. No snow day. The elementary schools got off, the high schools had two hour delays! Just because I'm at a university does not make the roads less hazardous.

All I would like before I leave Seattle to is have a snow day! Is that too much to ask for. My first years of having a winter... I mean a REAL winter. and I have to sit inside because my school won't give me an entire day to play in the snow.
